How To Install ADB Drivers on Your PC

Requirements: In order to install the Universal ADB Driver completely on your Computer, you need to have a Android Device.

How to install Universal ADB Driver

These are the instructions to install Universal ADB Driver (based on Google ADB Driver) on Windows Computer in few clicks only.

Step 1: Connect your android device to the computer with USB Debugging enabled.

Step 2: Download and extract Universal ADB Driver on your computer. After extracting, you will be able to get the setup file.

Step 3: Now, Open the Setup file.

Step 4: Once you have launched the ADB Driver setup, it will automatically detect your device and show it in the device list.

Step 5: Now, Click on the Install button to begin the installation process.

Step 6: During the installation process, you will be able to see Windows Security Dialog Box.

Step 7: Click on Install this driver software anyway to continue.

Step 8: Once, installation is completed you will be able to see the Installation Success message with green process bar.

Manually install Google ADB Driver

These are the instructions to manually install Google ADB Driver on Windows Computer (including Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, 8.1 and Windows 10).

Step 1: Download and extract Google ADB Driver on your Windows Computer.

Step 2: Now, On using your Computer Keyboard Press Win + R key to launch Run Command.

Step 3: Once, run command is launched, type devmgmt.msc and Press on OK Button to launch Device Manager.

Step 4: Once, Device Manager is launched, Click on your computer Name.

Step 5: Now, Click on Action Menu and Select Add Legacy Hardware.

Step 6: In the Add Hardware Wizard > Click on Next to Continue.

Step 7: Now, Select Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced) and click on Next to Continue.

Step 8: Now, under Common hardware types > select on show all devices and click Next to continue.

Step 9: Now, click on Have Disk and using the browse button locate the extracted Google ADB Driver (android_winusb.inf) that you have downloaded in Step#1.

Step 10: Once, your driver is listed in the blank area, click on Next to continue.

Step 11: Now, again click on Next to continue.

Step 12: Lastly, Click to finish button to close the Add Hardware Wizard.

Above, you can see the Google ADB Driver is installed and listed in the Device Manager. Which means you can now connect your android device to the Windows Computer without any issue.

Keep in Mind:
[*] If you are trying to connect your device to the computer after installing the Google ADB Driver, then try to connect after enabling the USB Debugging on your Android Device.
[*] Google ADB driver is a Universal Driver which supports almost all the Android Device in the market.
[*] Compatibility: Universal ADB Driver Setup supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 (x86 or x64).
[*] Known Bug: Universal ADB Driver v1.0 Setup doesnt detect the device if it is added after starting the setup. We have to close the Setup first then restart it again to get the device detected by the setup or try the latest version.
